Many of the Great Bend High School Band entries earned a trip to the State Music Festival by receiving a I at regionals last Saturday: Brass Sextet: Ben Diel, Aaron Schultz, Allison Regehr, Michelle Rooney, Aubrey Maneth, Kayn Milholland; and soloists: Eric Vazquez, Allison Regehr, Anna Frizell, Taylor Dougherty, Kaitlin Adams, and Andrew Curtright. II’s were awarded to the Woodwind Trio: Shenay Lee, Kaia Parks, Daniella Astrain; the  Brass Trio: Ben Diel, Aaron Schultz, Andrew Curtright; and soloists: Shenay Lee, Daniela Astrain, Maycie Hestand, Michelle Rooney, Ben Diel, Michael Raymer, Ozioma Ofoma, Jordan Otten, and Kaia Parks. III’s went to Clarinet Trio: Anna Frizell, Maycie Hestand, Kaitlin Adams; the Saxophone Trio: Santiago Talamantes, Andrew Reed, Eric Vazquez; and soloists: Santiago Talamantes, and Robert Frizell. Dorian Lueth got a I on his viola solo, as did vocalists Allison Muth, Ashlyn Prescott, Sarah Keller and Hadley Murphy; Aubrey Maneth received a II.
State competition will be on April 25 at Emporia High School.
