GBHS Band entries earn trip to State Musical Festival

Instrumental entries from Great Bend High School had excellent ratings at the Regional Music Festival last weekend at BCCC. Many of the Great Bend High School Band entries earned a trip to the State Music Festival by receiving a I at regionals last Saturday: Brass Sextet: Ben Diel, Aaron Schultz, Allison Regehr, Michelle Rooney, Aubrey Maneth, Kayn Milholland; and soloists: Eric Vazquez, Allison Regehr, Anna Frizell, Taylor Dougherty, Kaitlin Adams, and Andrew Curtright. II’s were awarded to the Woodwind Trio: Shenay Lee, Kaia Parks, Daniella Astrain; the  Brass Trio: Ben Diel, Aaron Schultz, Andrew Curtright; and soloists: Shenay Lee, Daniela Astrain, Maycie Hestand, Michelle Rooney, Ben Diel, Michael Raymer, Ozioma Ofoma, Jordan Otten, and Kaia Parks. III’s went to Clarinet Trio: Anna Frizell, Maycie Hestand, Kaitlin Adams; the Saxophone Trio: Santiago Talamantes, Andrew Reed, Eric Vazquez; and soloists: Santiago Talamantes, and Robert Frizell. Dorian Lueth got a I on his viola solo, as did vocalists Allison Muth, Ashlyn Prescott, Sarah Keller and Hadley Murphy; Aubrey Maneth received a II.
State competition will be on April 25 at Emporia High School.
