PRATT – The Great Bend High School debate team competed at the Pratt Invitational Debate Tournament on Saturday, Dec. 10. They had one team place individually and the squad as a whole placed in the top three overall in sweepstakes out of 15 schools.
Junior Chase Pumford and freshman Morgan Francis placed second out of 42 teams with a 5-0 win-loss record and 21 speaker points. “This year has been a great experience and Chase has been a big help,” Francis said. “I’m glad we ended the year like this.”
Courtney Seever and Nathan Stoulil, both sophmores, ended the day with a 3-2 win-loss and 25 speaker points. Sophmore Micheal Gieck and freshmen Nate Cheney finished with a 2-3 and 24 speaker point.
This was the last invitational before regionals and state. Great Bend plans to compete in both.
