The Great Bend Recreation Commission will be host a Makerspace Kids Day Out camp from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 18, at the Great Bend Rec Activity Center, 2715 18th St. The Fort Hays State University SMEI (Science Mathematics Education Institute) Maker Van will be at the activity center for a full day of interesting science activities, including time in the updated planetarium, Squigglebots (simple vibration powered drawing robots), Eggbot (drawing pattern on eggs/ping pong balls), Littlebits circuity kits (build robots and vehicles with circuitry kits), Evobot Robots, Programmable Robots and other organized activities. For lunch, students will enjoy pizza, fruit and a beverage. Snacks and beverages will also be provided in the morning and afternoon.
This camp is for children ages 6–12 years of age. The entry fee is $15 per student. Registration deadline is Monday, Oct. 14.
