The Hoisington Forensics Team competed at Great Bend’s forensics invitational, Feb. 23-24, and walked away with third place in sweepstakes out of 21 teams. The team would also like to thank Alex Reisner for judging and helping as the assistant coach through the tabroom at the tournament. Final medalist results are as follows: Jessica Lovett 5th place in informative speech and 4th place in Serious Solo Acting. Vada Kaiser 6th place in Orginal Oration. Baylie Fyler 5th place in Poetry Reading. Brayden Stevenson 4th place in Impromptu Speaking and 2nd place in Extemporaneous Speaking.

At the Pratt Tournament on Feb. 17, the Hoisington Forensics Team had 15 entries compete for an invitation to the state championship. From left: Steven Demel, Bodie Selfridge, Melody Braddy, AJ Thurman, Jaidyn Stevenson, Brayden Stevenson, Calli Brown, Hunter Adams, and Hunter Ney brought a variety of speeches and dramatic performances that fell just short of entering the tournament’s final round. Selfridge walked away with a 5th-place medal in Extemporaneous Speech and Brayden Stevenson won a spot at the State Championship by receiving a second-place medal in Impromptu Speech.
