Children aren’t the only ones making Christmas wish lists for Santa. The Kansas Oil and Gas Hall of Fame and Museum staff have a list of their own.
Items on the list are intended to promote learning about the history of the oil and gas industry in Barton County and to help with the expanded vision for the facility.
“Over the last 10 months, the museum has taken a new direction that would better preserve our heritage and talk about it by putting a story to it,” said Museum Curator Danielle Feist. “Sustainability and serving our visitors is always top of mind at The KOGM. So, we welcome donations of things and materials we can use to keep learning and exploring.”
Other items on the wish list are intended to update the museum and bring a richer experience to its patrons. People can also make a donation of money or time.
Some of the items on the list include: tools and equipment, kitchen supplies, games and activities for children, and camp supplies. For a more detailed list contact the museum by calling 620-793-8301.
The Kansas Oil and Gas Museum is located at 5944 10th St. in Great Bend. Its mission is to collect and preserve the cultural heritage of the local oil and gas industry and interpret its history through innovative, educational experiences for the present and future generations.
