Diabetes class will
meet Wednesday

LARNED — Is your diabetes under control?  A free community diabetes education class is scheduled from from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at Pawnee Valley Community Hospital.
  Topics covered included general diabetes information, meter use, medication, foot care, treating hypoglycemia and hyperglycemia, meal planning and carb counting. For information, call 785-623-5503 or 785-623-2377 (if no answer please leave a message).  

Coffee chat scheduled

LARNED — The Pawnee Valley Community Hospital Foundation  sponsors coffee chat on Mondays from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m.  at Pawnee Valley Community Hospital.  
Coffee Chat is an opportunity for community members to gather together over free coffee and treats while sharing great fellowship and conversation.  Everyone is welcome to attend.

Welcome Inn board
conducts business

LARNED –  The regular monthly meeting of the Welcome Inn Leisure Center Inc. was called to order by President Charles Wonsetler May 7 at 12:45 p.m.
In addition to Charles Wonsetler, the following board members were present — Jim Forrest, treasurer; Betty Tauscher, secretary; and Roger Haberman, reporter. Absent were Ben Appel, vice-president and Pat Birzer, historian.  
Bobbie Sharrock, Bryon Stilts and Mona Marie Wysong were guests.
Jim Forrest gave the treasurer’s report. All bills were allowed.  
“We are happy to report that we did end the month in the “black,” Forrest said.
Other comments/reports – the garage sale went over very well — thanks to everyone. The new bus is still not in use — an accident broke a window and the replacement has not arrived.  The 4th of July picnic basket will be available soon for those that wish to purchase tickets for it.
The carry-in dinner held on April 13, with Valeta Milhon and Roger Haberman hosting, had a very nice turnout and a lot of food. The next carry-in dinner was scheduled May 11 with Betty Tauscher and Charles Wonsetler hosting.
The meeting adjourned at 1:40 p.m. and will meet again on June 4, at about 12:45 p.m.

Pawnee Valley will
sponsor color run

LARNED — Pawnee Valley Community Hospital will be hosting the 4th Annual Benefit Color Fun Run-Walk Event on Saturday, June 14. The colorful mile and 5K events begin at 8 a.m. at the corner of 11th & Carroll, Larned.  
Race day registration begins at 7:30 a.m.  Registration forms are available at Larned Businesses, Pawnee Valley Community Hospital Information Desk or online at pawneevalleyhospital.com.  
Proceeds benefit Larned High School athletics while promoting the health and wellness of our student athletes.

LARNED — Pawnee Valley Community Hospital will be the site of an Everything is $6 Show to benefit Pawnee County Relay for Life on Monday, June 2 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the St. Joseph meeting room.
The show will feature top quality, trendy and traditional products priced up to 80 percent below retail.  Everyone is invited.
