Quilting Bees meet

LARNED — The second meeting of August of the guild was moved to Aug. 24 in the fellowship hall of the First Presbyterian Church.
Colleen Wolf read thank you notes from prayer quilt recipients and announced the upcoming Sept. 13  program by Pat Koechel at the Great Bend First Presbyterian Church beginning at 7 p.m.  
The fat quarter drawing “Dog Daze Summer” was won by Colleen Wolf.  Diane Schultz displayed her pieced fall panel wall hanging top.  
Following the short business meeting, Ann Hicks demonstrated the “Maple Leaf Block”.  Those present worked on individual blocks for a table runner or wall hanging.  
The next regular meeting will be on Tuesday, Sept. 3 at 7 p.m. at the church. Visitors are welcome to come and see what members have brought for show and tell.  Call the church 285-6033 for additional information.  

City of Rozel to sponsor run

ROZEL — The City of Rozel will sponsor a 5K run Saturday, Sept. 14. Registration begins at 6:30 a.m. with racetime at 7:30 a.m. The cost is $30. Register on-line at www.rozelcity.com.

Hunter safety class Sept. 14

LARNED — A Hunter Safety Course is scheduled at 8 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 14 at the Larned Community Center.
Students must pre-register for the course in order to get directions to complete the online portion of the certification.
Either call the contact, or visit www.safehunters.com for online registration. Students much complete the online portion of the course (https://programs.ksoutdoors.com/prg/Programs/Hunter-Eduction-Certifiction) prior to attending the field day.
Each student will be issued a pre-test over the online materials. To register, call Mike Seeman, 620-285-6002.
