Bruce Mellor, Kansas Bureau of Investigation special agent in charge of Great Bend, recently presented a check to Julie Bugner Smith, executive director of United Way of Central Kansas.
Mellor selected United Way of Central Kansas to receive a donation on his behalf as a result of the honor.
Mellor recently received the annual Clarence M. Kelley Meritorious Service Award as a result of his many achievements and contributions made in both his professional and personal life.
Kelly, for whom the award is named, was a former director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation and co-founder of the Clarence M. Kelley Group of Companies that partner with the Kansas/Western Missouri Division of the FBI National Academy Graduates Association to present this award. It is presented to those individuals selected by their peers for living a personal and professional life dedicated to their faith, family and country as did Kelley.
Mellor’s personnel file is filled with a an inch thick section of commendations and thank you letters from local law enforcement and prosecutors from throughout his entire career. He is very focused on supporting local law enforcement efforts, quote his peers.
In his current position with the KBI, he is in charge of the Great Bend Region of the Field Investigation Division.
