Naturalization filing changes

Beginning April 1, U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services is changing the method of filing and the fees for obtaining Citizenship through Naturalization the N-400.

Doris Reile is having a review class and will provide the new information in class at 6 p.m. on Feb. 27, in the meeting room at the Holiday Inn, 3821 10th St. in Great Bend.

For anyone who has applied or is planning to apply in the near future, this information is extremely important. If you would like to file before these changes take place, bring your permanent resident or green card, and attend this meeting.

The fee currently is $725 but that is changing. If you don’t have an email address, find someone – maybe a family member – whose email you can use. Paper filing will soon not be available, unless the person pays a higher fee.

This is an important issue and it will affect any new filing after April 1, Reile said. For additional information call 620-791-7314.
