John Celock to hold workshop Nov. 6th

ELLINWOOD — A special workshop will be hosted by Educational Strategies. On Nov. 6th, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., John Celock, a nationally recognized journalist, author and speaker will present “Community at the Forefront: Growing Your Business or Organization Through Effectively Engaging and Building Your Community.”
Effectively engaging your local community is key to developing your business or organization. The community can help grow your business and serve as members of your organization, building the group into a success. But community engagement is not just something that can be done overnight, it requires a sustained presence and a regular conversation with community members. Cost is $20.
This workshop will explore:
• Effectively engaging internal and external constituencies
• Utilizing print and online media for engagement
• Program development for successful engagement and retention
• Volunteer engagement
• Developing two-way communication for community engagement
• Building community
 Award winning writer, media affairs advisor and author John Celock has a long term experience in community engagement and working to utilize the community for small business. As the editor of Westfield Patch, an online daily newspaper in Westfield, N.J. from 2009-2011, John took an unknown entity in a community that never had a daily or online news presence and built it into a profitable leader in the market in less than two years. Key to the success John had in Westfield was successfully engaging and working with the community. John also worked closely with local groups throughout Westfield on community engagement. As the executive director of 21st Century Consumers, John has worked to develop and implement strategies around statewide engagement for policies that benefit consumers. John has extensive experience in program development and volunteer engagement.
