Two Great Bend men suspected of committing burglaries in Rooks County were arrested Monday morning in Great Bend.
According to a report from Sgt. C. Smee at the Great Bend Police Department, the Stockton Police Department notified local authorities shortly after midnight that two burglary suspects might be in town. Descriptions of the suspects and their vehicle were passed on to the Great Bend police and Barton County Sheriff’s Office deputies.
The vehicle was located and the suspects, Nathan A. Guile, 25, and Jordan M. Hale, 20, were stopped on the U.S. 281 Bypass near the 1500 block of Frey St. around 5:45 a.m., for warrants out of Rooks County. They were booked into the Barton County Jail to be held without bond.
Hale was booked on charges of possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia; and for Rooks County charges of burglary, theft, and theft of motor fuel. Guile was booked on charges of burglary, theft of motor fuel and theft.
A passenger in the vehicle, Jason R. Moore of Great Bend, was arrested for having an open container of alcohol.

KSN-TV reports two men broke into the Stockton J-Mart between 2 and 4 a.m. on Sunday. Police could see both suspects and a vehicle in a surveillance video, which was shown on television. Police soon received a number of tips, and said they were able to use one suspect’s own Facebook photos to confirm his identity.
Items reported as stolen included $3,000 in Kansas Lottery tickets, several cartons of cigarettes and cans of chewing tobacco, around $275 in currency and rolled quarters, tickets to the Wild West Fest in Hays, a blue Stockton National Bank money bag and $50 in change from a donation jar intended for a local cancer patient.
