Christmas Tree Season is about to begin. The Great Bend Optimist Club will be selling Fresh Cut Christmas Trees starting Friday, Nov. 26, at the Stutzman’s location at 10th and Washington in Great Bend.

According to Optimist Tree Chairman Steve Kummer, “the club will be offering three varieties of fresh-cut trees this year. Frasier Firs have been a local favorite for many years. In addition we’ll have a good selection of Douglas Firs. In recent years we’ve picked up the Black Hills Spruce tree. They’ve gotten good reviews in the community.”

In addition to the Optimist Trees, Stutzman’s will have their home grown poinsettias for sale.

The local Optimist Club has long used Christmas tree sales as the club’s main fundraiser.

“Profits from our Christmas Tree sales will support the many youth projects promoted by the club.” Kummer said.  The Optimist Club meets Mondays at noon at the Walnut Bowl. Prospective members are always welcome to attend.
