RUSSELL COUNTY — A Russell man died Friday after the motorcycle he was driving struck a cow in the 3500 block of 189th St., 6.5 miles south of Interstate 70.
Kansas Highway Patrol reports James Howard Zordel, 59, was not wearing a helmet. He was driving north on the county road when the 1992 Suzuki motorcycle collided with the black cow, around 10 p.m. He died at the scene and was taken to Pohlman Verner Peeler Mortuary.
