An Ellinwood man was injured in a one-vehicle accident south of Ellinwood early Saturday morning, Barton County Sheriff Brian Bellendir said.

At about 2:30 a.m., Barton County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a reported injury accident on Southeast 105 Ave. Upon arrival deputies located the driver and vehicle. 

It appears that the 2009 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 pickup operated by Chantz Clawson, age 23 of Ellinwood, was southbound on SE 105 Avenue. Investigation indicates the driver failed to negotiate the curve onto Southeast 20 Road at which point the vehicle left the roadway and went into the south ditch. 

The vehicle struck a field driveway, became airborne and rolled approximately two and half times.  

Clawson was transported by Ellinwood Emergency Medical Services to Great Bend Regional Hospital. His condition was not immediately available.
