Saying thanks
new deh RSVP veteran pinning pic
On Monday afternoon, in advance of Veterans Day, the Retired Senior Volunteer Program recognized those who have not only served their community, but also their nation. During a ceremony at the Great Bend Senior Center, veterans who serve with RSVP received special pins denoting their involvement as a way to say thanks. The pins are from the National Veteran Corps and were given to veterans serving in national service programs and for AmeriCorps members and Senior Corps volunteers who serve veterans and military families. Pictured are: Back row, veterans, Chris Leiker, Bill Steadman, Bob Ingersoll, Irv Gotsche, Don Halbower, Vaughn Duncan, Art Craven and William Pickle; and front row, RSVP volunteer Mary Garrigues, RSVP Advisory Council members Deon Lupton and Reta Brack, veterans Daniel Bayer, Victoria Garza-Reyes, Chuck Parmer, Don Paden, Larry Buczinski and Darrell Turley, and RSVP Advisory Council members Karen Kramp and Jean Cavanaugh. - photo by DALE HOGG Great Bend Tribune
