The Great Bend USD 428 Board of Education will meet at noon Thursday, Nov. 19, in the Library at Great Bend High School. The board will recognize Tyler Shirley, a physical education teacher at Jefferson Elementary School, for winning the Kansas Horizon Award, sponsored by the Kansas Department of Education to recognize outstanding first-year teachers.
Items on the agenda include approval of contributions, a Board of Education Adopt-a-Building program, and a building report from GBHS Principal Tim Friess and staff. An executive session for discussion of personnel is also on the agenda
