Shafer Gallery calling for 'Choreography of Cranes' entries
Placeholder Image

The Shafer Art Gallery at Barton Community College is calling for entries for its national juried art exhibit “Choreography of Cranes.” The deadline to submit work is Sept. 1.  The exhibit is a collaborative effort between the Shafer Gallery and the Kansas Wetlands Education Center to raise awareness of the precarious plight of the endangered whooping cranes and the daunting task of conserving their habitat.
The subject of all submitted art is limited to waterfowl, with a preference for images of all species of cranes. Two-dimensional artwork in any medium, including photography and mixed media, will be considered for acceptance in the exhibit.
Artists may submit up to three images. There is a non-refundable entry fee of $25.
The judge will be acclaimed wildlife artist Peter Eades, whose work has been featured in several magazines including Wyoming Wildlife, Sporting Classics, Wildlife Art, and Bugle Magazine.
