Thin Mint Sprint 5K and Cookie Relay to be hosted by Girl Scouts of Kansas Heartland
Event welcomes runners and walkers of all ages and abilities

The Girl Scouts of Kansas Heartland’s inaugural Thin Mint Sprint 5K and Cookie Relay on April 12 is a unique event attracting hundreds of people to Wichita in support of Girl Scouts across the state.
The Thin Mint Sprint 5K starts at 8:30 a.m. on April 12 at the Girl Scouts headquarters, 360 Lexington Rd. in Wichita, and extends through the beautiful city of Eastborough. The Cookie Relay starts at 9:45 a.m. at the Girl Scouts headquarters and includes a 600-yard relay course complete with cookie obstacles, so get your team prepared.
Every 5K participant will receive a Thin Mint Sprint T-shirt, a box of Girl Scout Thin Mint cookies and delicious post-race refreshments – cookies included!
Registration deadlines and entry fees for the Thin Mint Sprint 5K are as follows:
• Kids ages 4 and under are free
• $15 for Girl Scouts (girl members)
• $35 through April 11
• $40 on race day, April 12
Registered 5K racers can sign up a team of four in the Cookie Relay for an additional $5 per person, or it costs $25 for a team registering only for the Cookie Relay. Registration for both the Thin Mint Sprint 5K and the Cookie Relay is online at GoRunYourRace.com or at either Wichita GoRun location. GoRun Wichita is serving as a partner for race management.
Dress in your best Thin Mint costume to participate in the costume contest, and bring the whole family to the Family Fun Zone near the start/finish area, where you can enjoy activities like face-painting and a photo booth.
An awards ceremony will follow the Thin Mint Sprint 5K, with medals awarded to first through third place in eight age categories. Trophies will be handed out to first through third place in the Cookie Relay.
All proceeds from the event will support more than 16,500 Girl Scout members across the 80 Kansas counties served by the Girl Scouts of Kansas Heartland. The Thin Mint Sprint 5K and Cookie Relay is sponsored by Cox Communications, High Touch Technologies, Emprise Bank, Fidelity Bank, Morgan Stanley, and Girl Scout Alumni and Friends Inc.
