Traffic stops leads to arrest

Barton County Sheriff deputy Sheriff Sierra Thorne stopped a 1998 Buick LeSabre at 1:30 a.m. on Tuesday in the 1300 block of 10th Street and arrested Randall Long, 22, of Garden City on drug and traffic charges.
According to reports, Thorne stopped the vehicle for seat belt violation. The driver was not able to produce a valid driver’s license as well as other misdemeanor traffic violations. During the course of the investigation officers discovered approximately 59 grams of suspected methamphetamine, marijuana and drug paraphernalia.
Long was charged with possession of methamphetamine, DUI, possession of drug paraphernalia as well as other traffic offenses. Long’s bond is set at $100,000.
