BURDETT — Arthur Lewis Mostrom, 88, died May 8 at Larned Healthcare Center. Born March 16, 1925, in Spearville, he was the son of Clarence H. and Merion E. North Mostrom.  On Aug. 17, 1952, he married Faye Schadel in Alexander. She survives. A longtime resident of Burdett, he was a retired mechanic and custodian.
Mr. Mostrom served in the United States Navy during World War II. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Rozel and a life member Veterans of Foreign Wars in Hanston.  
Other survivors include five children, Virginia and husband Ken Umberger of Colby, Leonard and wife Kathy Mostrom and Margaret and husband Tyler Selfridge, both of Burdett, Janette and husband Dan Friesen of Meade and Kenna Mostrom of Solomon; two brothers, Carl Mostrom of Great Bend and Raymond Mostrom of St. Petersburg, Fla.; one sister, Nita Konrade of Offerle; 12 grandchildren, Justin, Debra, Katherine, Brandi, Levi, Sarah, Allison, Josh, William, Kalyn, Kyel and Kendra; and six great-grandchildren, Faith, Ian, Addie, Grace, Mason and Rhyliegh. He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Lillian Jean Bailey; and one infant grandson, Christian Lewis Umberger.   
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday at the United Methodist Church in Burdett with Pastor Brad McCoy and Pastor Keith Schadel presiding. Burial will be at the Garfield Cemetery with Military Honors. Visitation will be from noon to 8 p.m. Sunday and from 9 a.m. until 8 p.m. Monday, with family receiving friends from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at Morell Funeral Home in Larned.
