ELLINWOOD — Darlene Bertha (Standlee) Honomichl, 82, went to be with the Lord on Oct. 3rd, 2017, at Great Bend Health and Rehab in Great Bend after a longtime battle with Alzheimers.
Darlene was born on April 17, 1935, in McPherson, the daughter of Dave and Clara Standlee. Darlene graduated from Russell High School in 1953, and married Adolph J. Honomichl on March 10, 1956. Darlene’s life work was as an oil field secretary and bookkeeper. Along with working she raised three children and was an active member of Calvary Baptist Church.
Survivors include husband, A.J. of Great Bend Health and Rehab; a son, Steven (Angela) Honomichl, Poplar Bluff, Mo.; a daughter, Karen (Chuck) Bookout, Ellinwood; 10 grandchildren; and her beloved great-grandchildren. Darlene is preceded in death by her parents, Dave and Clara; two brothers R.D. and Kenneth Standlee; and a daughter, Linda DeBusk.
Funeral service will be 10 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 7, at Calvary Baptist Church in Ellinwood with Pastor Jason Winget officiating. Burial will follow at Lakin-Comanche Cemetery in Ellinwood. Visitation will be from 6:30-8:30 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 6. at Minnis Chapel in Ellinwood. In lieu of flowers memorials are suggested to Calvary Baptist Church, PO Box 35, Ellinwood, KS 67526.
