RUSSELL — Deborah Ann (Sipes) Schneider, 49, died April 5 at her home in Russell. Born Aug. 10, 1962, at Hays, she was the daughter of Robert and Rose Ann (Werth) Sipes.
She lived in many different areas while growing up and spent the last few years of her childhood in Ellis. In 1982 she graduated from Ellis High School. She attended Barton Community College and Fort Hays State University.
On June 6, 1991, she married Martin Schneider in Gorham.
She was formerly employed in the food service industry, was a licensed CNA and worked for Travenol. She enjoyed needlework, embroidering and quilting. Most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family.
Mrs. Schneider was a member of St. Mary Queen of Angels Catholic Church, Rosary and Ladies Quilting Clubs, and the American Legion, all of Russell.
Survivors include her husband, of the home; mother, Rose Ann Sipes of Ellis and companion Eugene Mater of Olmitz; father, Robert Sipes of Dallas, Texas; sister, Beverly Gunther of Sachse, Texas; and grandfather, Ivan Sipes of Monticello, Ark. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Gus and Dorothy Werth; grandmother Annie Sipes; brother Michael G. Sipes; and infant daughter Alicia Marie Schneider.
A celebration of the funeral Mass was held April 9 at the St. Mary Queen of Angels Catholic Church in Russell with Father Charles Steier officiating. The rosary was conducted before the service at the church. Burial was at the Russell City Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to Masses or to the Deborah A. Schneider Memorial Fund.
