Edgar T. Weatherford Jr., 83, passed away Jan. 11 at his home after a short battle with cancer. He was born Feb. 18, 1935, the son of Edgar T. Weatherford Sr. and Grace Jewel. Ed was an active pilot, instructor and FAA examiner for over 50 years. A resident of Great Bend since 1963, Ed, along with his wife Ginnie, operated Midwest Aviation at the airport for over 47 years. 

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Ginnie Lee; son Dan (Becky) Weatherford of Wichita; granddaughter, Lexie; and sister Brenda Weatherford of Tacoma, Wash. 

Memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Jan. 23rd, First Christian Church in Great Bend. Memorial donations can be made to the AOPA Foundation in Ed’s name.
