Eleanor C. 'Ellie' Wilkinson 1924 - 2012


GREAT BEND — Eleanor C. “Ellie” Wilkinson, 87, died April 4, 2012 at Great Bend Health and Rehabilitation Center.
Born Aug. 12, 1924, in Beaver, she was the daughter of Valentine and Anna (Feltes) Kramer.
On Dec. 21, 1942, she married Lawrence J. Churchill in Ellinwood. He died March 16, 1967. On Sept. 25, 1976, she married Elga Weldon Wilkinson in Great Bend. He died July 9, 2007.
A Great Bend resident since 1962, coming from rural Great Bend, she worked at the Fuller Brush Company in assembly production.
Mrs. Wilkinson was a member of  Prince of Peace Parish at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church and the Altar Society.
Survivors include a son, Jim Churchill, St. John; two daughters, Linda Renfro and her husband Willard, and Cheryl Muth and her husband Jim, both of Great Bend; seven grandchildren, Todd J. Churchill, Lawrence Churchill, Amanda Reed, Miranda Tolin, Heath Muth, Jamie Dennis and  Travis Renfro; 14 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by daughter-in-law, Rojean Churchill; three brothers, Valentine “Smokey” Kramer, Nick Kramer and Ambrose “Bud” Kramer; six sisters, Dorothy Reed, Elizabeth Nightengale, Lavella Laughlin, Anna Magie, Catherine Kramer and Cecilia Ward; and a grandson, Grant Renfro.
Altar Society rosary will be held at 4 p.m. Monday at Bryant Funeral Home in Great Bend. Vigil service will be held at 7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Great Bend with Father Don Bedore officiating. Burial will be at the Hillcrest Memorial Park in Great Bend.
Friends may visit from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions to the American Alzheimer’s Association, in care of the funeral home. Condolences may be sent and notice viewed at www.bryantfh.net.
