Harold D. Schneidewind, 78, died May 27, 2016, Great Bend Regional Hospital. He was born March 18, 1938, at Bazine, the son of Henry and Leah (Wittig) Schneidewind. He married Eva “Delores” Blehm April 21, 1957, at Bazine. He worked for the Great Bend Fire Department for 17 years and for Brentwood Ltd. for 11 years.
Mr. Schneidewind was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Great Bend.
Survivors include his wife, of the home; son Craig Schneidewind and his wife Linda of Great Bend; two daughters, Debra Woods and her husband Greg of LaMonte, Mo., and Kim and her husband Alva McHenry of Great Bend; one sister, Gloria Vogel of Hays; six grandchildren, Amanda Butler, Magen Read, Tristan McHenry, Morgan McHenry, Shana McHenry and Westan McHenry; five great-grandchildren, Isaiah Butler, Leah Butler, Noah Butler, Dayvion Read and Jaden Read; two step-grandchildren, Brian Bowers and Brittany Bowers; and four step-great-grandchildren, Briley Bowers, Brax Bowers, Brikan Bowers and Braze Bowers He was preceded in death by infant son Curtis Dean Schneidewind; one sister, Sharon Werth; and one grandson, Steven Craig Schneidewind.
Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, May 31, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Great Bend with the Rev. Richard Monson, officiant. Interment will be in Great Bend Cemetery North. Visitation will be from 4-9 p.m., with the family receiving friends from 4-6 p.m., Monday at Bryant Funeral Home.
