SUN LAKES, Ariz. — L.C. Marion Harmon was born Nov. 9, 1931, in Tecumseh, Okla., to Walter Fred Harmon and Dorothy Katherine Jones Harmon.
His career began Nov. 23, 1955, in Pratt, when he joined Guarantee Mutual Life Insurance Company.  In 1958 he moved his family to Great Bend, and opened his general agency. June 1966 he was appointed General Agent of Wichita, and retained the Great Bend operation in western Kansas.  With a dual role of Regional Marketing Manager for Oklahoma in 1999 Jefferson Pilot of North Carolina bought Guarantee Life and Growth continued with offices in Tulsa, Guthrie, and Oklahoma City, Okla., and Springdale, Ark. In 2008 a merger with Lincoln Financial Group, Ft. Wayne, Ind., and Jefferson Pilot exploded the service needs for all the companies under Lincoln Financial, now served out of Wichita.
In 2008 L.C. and Connie moved to Sun Lakes, Arizona due to L.C.’s COPD though he continued to create, consult and advise clients and agents as well as service his clients.  His awards have been numerous – as a Personal Producer or Agency Builder, writing articles or giving his time to any person requesting his help, he loved his career. The most prestigious award ever granted him was in October 2010 – “The Pinnacle Group” with Lincoln Financial. He was one of 72 that received this award out of 4,000 that tried to achieve it.
His favorite comment pertaining to his business and death was he “Wanted to be pulling into his garage with a signed application for life insurance, check attached, then lay back in the car seat and just go to sleep with a smile.”
He is survived by his spouse Constance “Connie” Loree Withers Harmon; daughters, Brenda Gail Kahmeyer, and Vicki Lynn Armer (Richard L.); grandchildren, Alecia Brooks Ary, Katie Corder Ary, and Megan Louise McCord; great-grandchildren, Mikayla Loree McCord and Zane Michael Alexander McCord; a half-brother, Jerry Nixon, Wall, NJ; and several nieces and nephews.
