LEWIS — Mary Helen Cross, 85, died April 22 at Pratt Regional Medical Center. Born Dec. 25, 1926, at Fellsburg, she was the daughter of LeRoy G. and Helen Hilts Gatterman. A lifetime area resident, she was a retired insurance agent for the Home State Bank and Lewis Insurance Service. In August, 1949, she married Charles R. Cross at Lewis. He died on Aug. 23, 1954.
Mrs. Cross was a member of the United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women, and PEO Chapter CQ, all of Lewis.
Survivors include two sons, David Cross and Robert Cross, both of Lewis; four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a brother, Thoran D. Gatterman.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the United Methodist Church in Lewis with the Rev. Dennis Kuder presiding. Burial will be at the Wayne Cemetery in Lewis. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
