Nova N. Bishop, 86, died April 18 at her home in Great Bend. She was born April 29, 1925 at Ingram, Ark., the daughter of Paul and Opha (Rush) Hayes.
She married Cloys William Bishop on Aug. 9, 1941 at Pocahontas, Ark. He died Dec. 5, 1981. She was dietary supervisor for Great Bend Manor, retiring in June, 1986.
Mrs. Bishop was a Great Bend resident since 1982, coming from Timken. She was a member of the Church of Christ.
She is survived by one son, Paul Bishop and his wife Karen of Great Bend; two daughters, Betty Chlumsky of Great Bend and Willie Ellis and her husband John of Parsons; four grandchildren, Michael Mitchell and his wife Karen of Ellinwood, Cherie Bishop of Great Bend, Robin Niebarger and her husband Todd of Parsons and John John Ellis and his wife Melody of Melcolm, Ala.;three great-grandchildren, J. C. Ellis, Clint Niebarger, and Janice Niebarger; and two adopted grandchildren, Amber Kasselman and Kacee Kasselman.
She was preceded in death by one son-in-law, John Chlumsky; one granddaughter, Tammy Bishop; four brothers and one sister.
The funeral service is at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, April 21 at the Church of Christ, 1122 Stone St. Chuck Marshall will officiate.
Interment will be at Great Bend Cemetery. Visitation is at 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., with the family receiving friends from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m., Friday, April 20, 2012 at Bryant Funeral Home.
