Orville E. Stroh 1937-2017

LYONS — Orville E. Stroh, (Ret.) 79, died Jan. 25, 2017, in Little River. Born, Nov. 22, 1937, in Wilson, he was the son of Aaron and Anna (Nuss) Stroh. In 1960, he married Beverly Brown in Norfolk, Va. She preceded him in death. He owned Stroh Realty and Auction in Lyons.
Mr. Stroh worked in special intelligence with the United States Coast Guard, and retired after 20 years of service as a Senior Chief Petty Officer. He was a member and past commander of the American Legion Post 174, and a member of the Lions Club in Ellsworth.
Survivors include his son, James Stroh of Racine, Wis.; a brother, Kenny Stroh of Haysville; a sister, Nadine Delhotal, Denver, Colo.; four nieces, Clarissa Delhotal and Becky Delhotal-Hicks both of Denver, Colo., and Paige Bullock and Nancy Roche both of Norfolk, Va.; two nephews, Bert Bullock of Norfolk, Va., and Shane Stroh of Perry, Okla.; a great-niece, Genevieve; a great-nephew, Miles; and his grandson, McKale McAnulla of Hoisington. He was preceded in death by his wife; and a sister, Earlene Stroh.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 1, at the American Legion in Ellsworth. Burial will follow at 2 p.m. in the Lyons Municipal Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 1-8 p.m. today, with the family receiving friends from 6-8 p.m., at Parsons Funeral Home. Memorials may be given to the Orville E.
