SALINA — Rachel L. Janssen, 74 passed away Oct. 2, 2016 at Salina Regional Health Center.
She was born June 22, 1942 in Ellsworth, the daughter of Herschel and Marian (Craig) Janssen.
Rachel worked in medical records at the Ellsworth County Hospital. She was a member of Red Hats, enjoyed numerous bible studies, and was very fond of helping with “Bible Alive” at her church. The things Rachel most enjoyed in life were spending time with her children and grandchildren, reading, and watching the Kansas City Chiefs.
Survivors include her son Clinton Walker of Salina, and daughters Chrys Lamatsch and husband David of Claflin and Cara Spurney and husband Blaine of Salina. Grandchildren include Tyler Walker, Lauren and Michael Lamatsch and one great-grandchild Kolten Walker. Two brothers, Arlo Janssen of Sheridan, Wyoming, Richard Janssen and wife Shelly of Ellsworth and two sisters Jo Walker and husband Duane of Canton, and J. Janssen of Evergreen, Colorado along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Rachel was preceded in death by her parents.
Visitation is scheduled from 3 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Ryan Mortuary with family receiving friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Services are scheduled at 10:30 a.m. Friday at First Baptist Church, 843 Lewis Ave Salina, Kan. Graveside services will take place at 2:30 p.m. at Carneiro Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the church, in care of Ryan Mortuary 137 North 8th Street, Salina, KS, 67401.
