WICHITA — Raymond G. (Ray) Sharp, 81, retired Beech Aircraft Engineer passed away Sept. 10.
Ray served as an Air Force Officer in the Korean War. He was Kansas President of the National Association of Parliamentarians, and a member of KSA and Wichita Soaring Association. He had a pilot’s license and was former member of the Beech Flying Club and was an active member of the Beech Skeet and Trap Club. A charter member of the Woodlawn Avenue Baptist Church since 1955, he served as a deacon, moderator and treasurer.
Survivors include his loving wife of 61 years, Gini; his brother Leonard (Virginia) Sharp of Great Bend; a son Brad Sharp and Barbara; niece/daughters, Debi (Randy) Salberg, Webster Groves, Mo.; and Sally (Mike) Hill, Olathe; daughters/sister-in-laws Marilyn Kae Bird, Nashville, Tenn., Rosilyn (Larry) Kruckenberg, and sister-in-law Joyce (James) Lofland, both of Great Bend; and brother-in-laws Jimmy (Gerrie) Mohr of Milford and Ricky (Nita) Mohr, Great Bend, Lloyd Phillips, Houston Texas; and numerous nieces/nephews and grand nieces/nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents Howard and Fannie Sharp; his sisters Deborah, Eunice and Laura.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday with the service to follow at 2 p.m. Wednesday, both at Lakeview Funeral Home.
