Robert Eldon "Bob" Malone 1928-2017

MONTEZUMA — Robert Eldon “Bob” Malone, 88, passed away April 29, 2017. at Bethel Home in Montezuma. Born Aug. 1, 1928, in Edison, Neb., he was the son of Robert M. and Rua Ethel (Harding) Malone. On Dec. 29, 1950, he married Mary Weidner at the Sublette Christian Church in Sublette. He was employed with Northern Natural Gas for 32 years and retired as a Supervisor. He lettered in track at Fort Hays State University and enjoyed playing golf.
Mr. Malone was a member and served as the Commander of the American Legion, Elks and the Methodist Men. He served on the Sublette USD #374 Board of Education, was a Boy Scout Leader and coached little league baseball.
Survivors include his loving wife of 66 years, Mary of Montezuma; two daughters, Camella Sue Jantz and husband Dan Eberling of Montezuma, and Janet Kay Cook and husband Scott of Alva, Okla.; two sons, Michael Jay Malone and wife Teresa of Great Bend, and Robert Mitchel Malone and wife Mary Ann of Weatherford, Okla.; nine grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and a brother, Kenneth Malone. He was preceded by his brothers, Floyd Malone and Harold Malone; and his sister, Barbara Rogers.
A Memorial Service will be held 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 6 at the Sublette United Methodist Church. Interment will be at the Haskell County Cemetery at a later date. Cremation has taken place.
