Roy Dale Rocky Ford 1949-2013

ALAMOSA, Colo. — Roy Dale “Rocky” Ford, 63, passed away on Dec. 29, 2012 in Alamosa, Colo. A longtime Alamosa, Colo. and Great Bend resident, Rocky was born on Feb. 27, 1949, in Great Bend to Ora and Opal Mae (Griffin) Ford. He was a cattle and buffalo rancher and worked horses for many years. He was a carpenter and plumber, working in construction with his brother, Bud.
Rocky is survived by his partner, Debbie Dawson of the home; his daughter, Betsy Nagle of Joplin, Mo.; and his brothers Marvin Ford and wife Dee of Great Bend, and Bud Ford and wife JoAnn of Boulder, Colo. He is also survived by stepchildren, Adam Shull, Kelly Shull, Amanda Jackson, Emily Jackson, and Hunter Jackson. He was preceded in death by his parents; and his sister Ellen Ora Sparks.
Cremation was selected and a memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. on Saturday at Bryant Funeral Home in Great Bend with a time of fellowship at Ernie’s Bar and Grill following.
