Shirley Rae Hunt, 77, died  March 31 at Woodhaven Care Center, Ellinwood.  Born Nov. 15, 1935 at Hutchinson, she was the daughter of Ray William and Margie Catherine (Swann) Jones.
On Dec. 24, 1951, she married Arthur Wayne Hunt at Lyons.  Mrs. Hunt was a long-time Great Bend, Kansas resident, and a member of First Street Church of God, Hoisington. She enjoyed being a seamstress and wedding cake decorating.  She worked for A/R Systems and previously had worked at Marmie Motors, was the Love’s Store Manager, and was a craft store owner.
Survivors include her husband, Arthur Wayne Hunt, of the home; her son, Larry W. Hunt of Great Bend and her daughter, Dr. Catherine Hunt Strecker and her husband Monty of Ellinwood.  She is also survived by her brother, Jerry Jones of Great Bend, and ten grandchildren:  Lisa Ann Hunt Tolan and her husband Eric, Kristi Renee Hunt Lyons and her husband Steven, Serena Marie Hunt Shephard, Parry Sherman Hunt, Francis Wayne “Russ” Hunt and his companion Reana L. March, Jacob L. Strecker and his wife Andrea, Nicklaus A. Strecker and his wife Laura, Rachel C. Strecker, Rebecca R. Strecker, and Joanna R. Strecker, and 12 great-grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her son, Bobby Rae Hunt.
Funeral service will be held Thursday, April 4, at 10:30 a.m. at Bryant Funeral Home with Rev. Dick Ogle officiating.  Interment will be at Great Bend Cemetery, Great Bend.  Visitation will be Wednesday, April 3 at Bryant Funeral Home from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., with the family receiving friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.  Memorials may be made to First Street Church of God, in care of Bryant Funeral Home.  Condolences may be sent and notice viewed at www.bryantfh.net
