LAWRENCE — Sylvia M. Wagner, 86, died on May 2, at Brandon Woods in Lawrence. Born Feb. 24, 1927, in Chicago, Ill., she was the daughter of John and Marie (Wollert) Schmidt. On Nov. 17, 1946, she married Duane Wagner in Ellinwood. He preceded her in death on Aug. 13, 1991. She was a housewife and bank teller. She was an avid reader and enjoyed needlepoint.
Survivors include, three sons, Steven D. Wagner, and wife, Elaine of Denver, Colo., Robert S. Wagner of Wilson, Wyo., David D. Wagner, and wife, Ann Weber of Lawrence; six grandchildren, Nicholas, Patrick, Paige, Casey Wagner and Cody, Elle Weber. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Shirley Tharp.
Graveside inurnment will be held at a later date in Oak Hill Cemetery in Lawrence. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in her name to Lawrence Salvation Army and may be sent in care of the mortuary. Online condolences may be sent to www.warrenmcelwain.com.
