Teresa Murray, 62, of Great Bend, died Jan. 2 at Great Bend Regional Hospital. Born May 23, 1948, at Great Bend, she was the daughter of Maurice and Virginia (Suellentrop) Roach. She married Daniel Murray on Jan. 9, 1976, in Great Bend. A life-long resident of Great Bend, she worked as a secretary for Western & Southern Life Ins. Co. for a number of years.
Mrs. Murray loved animals, she served as a den mother for the Girl Scouts, and in 1994 she helped save an endangered timber claim.
Survivors include her spouse, of the home; three sons, Dan (Amie) Murray of Great Bend, Sean Murray of Great Bend and Scott Murray of Larned; one daughter, Denise Briley of Geneseo; a brother, Kenneth Roach of Great Bend; two sisters, Marie (Bill) Stanley, and Teresa’s twin sister Clara (Gary) Ellis, both of Great Bend; and six grandchildren, Jonas, Brianna, Brayden, Travis, Lauryn and Tyler. She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, William Roach and Allen Roach.
Graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Hillcrest Memorial Park in Great Bend, with Father Peter Fernandez officiating, and pallbearers: Denise Briley, Dan Murray, Scott Murray, Sean Murray, Brian Ellis and Brent Ellis. Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Wednesday and 12:30-1:30 p.m. Thursday at Charter Funerals in Great Bend. Memorials may be made to the ASPCA, in care of the funeral home.
