Verlin Gene Bailey, 68, died Nov. 14, 2017, at Great Bend Health and Rehab Center. He was born Nov. 14, 1949, in Great Bend, the son of John Alexander and Elsie Esther (Michaelis) Bailey.
He was a 1967 graduate of Hoisington High School and attended Fort Hays State and Pittsburg State Universities. He we a professional ceramic and carpet installer for most of his life and was co-owner of Cheyenne Supply. He retired from Braum’s in 2015.
Survivors include his granddaughter, Adison Rippie of Hoisington; cousins Carol Martin of Great Bend and Wayne Miller of Cary, North Carolina; and good friend Ken Harder. He was preceded in death by his parents, his son Brian Bailey and his brother Charles Bailey.
Memorials are suggested to the Verlin Bailey expense fund and may be sent to P.O. Box 158, Claflin, KS 67525. Cremation has taken place. A gathering with relatives and friends will take place at a later date.
