HUTCHINSON — Andrugh Yee's clutch hitting kept the Great Bend Bat Cats within range against the defending NBC World Series champion Hutchinson Monarchs.

The Bat Cats converted a Monarch error into a 2-run 11th inning for a wild 8-7 Jayhawk Collegiate League baseball victory.

Jaxon Bunkers scored the go-ahead run when left fielder Jackson Schanuel misplayed T.J. Shaw's fly ball. Shaw scored on a wild pitch for a 8-6 lead.

Reliever Carter Graham (1-0) earned the victory despite yielding runs in back-to-back innings. Nash Wray's fly ball out ended the 11-inning marathon.

Yee's 2-run sixth-inning homer scored Chase Chapman for a 4-4 tie after six innings.

George McCarroll was backed off the plate twice before singling home Cesar Chavira for a 5-4 lead. Wray scored on Walla's groundout for a 5-5 tie.

Yee doubled home ghost runner Chapman for a 6-5 lead in the 10th. Drew Bugner's topped infield single with two out scored Brady Taylor for a 6-6 tie.

The Bat Cats (11-3, 10-3) lead the Jayhawk Collegiate League while Hutchinson drops to 8-6.
