DODGE CITY — Great Bend’s Nico Baumbach and Tyler Henry each drove home four to spark the Bat Cats past the Dodge City’s A’s 11-4 in Sunday’s non-league baseball game.
The Bat Cats (9-3) scored six runs in the sixth inning after leading 4-3. Bat Cats pitchers David Blackburn, Matt Nedved (2-0) and Ethan Thomas each worked three innings. Thomas from Northlake, Texas, struck out five batters in three scoreless innings.
Great Bend took advantage of nine walks and four Dodge City errors to score seven unearned runs. Baumbach, Noah Best, Jett Forrest and Brett Freiberg each scored two runs.
Dodge City’s Tai Walton and Doyle Kane each delivered three hits with one RBI. Dodge City (8-6) competes in the Kansas Collegiate League with the Liberal Bee Jays.
