The Great Bend Middle School track and field team concluded its season on Tuesday after seven meets this season.
Originally, the middle school team was slated for eight meets but one was cancelled due to inclement weather.
The eighth-grade boys season was capped by a new school record set by Ty Yager in the 200-meter hurdles when he crossed the finish line at 29.4 seconds.
The eighth-grade boys’ top finish this season was a fourth-place effort at the Hays Felten meet. At the home varsity meet, the eighth-grade boys took sixth.
The seventh-grade girls took first place at the Great Bend junior varsity competition. At the home varsity meet, they finished in second place.
The seventh-grade boys took fourth place at the home junior varsity meet as their top finish of the season. They finished in sixth place at the hom varsity meet.
The eighth-grade girls’ top finish occurred at the Hays Felten meet. They finished in second place.
They also finished in second place at the home varsity meet.
