HOISINGTON — Rachel Doll scored 23 points and Ellinwood’s girls raced past Russell 44-29 for the championship in the Hoisington Winter-Jam. Ellinwood’s pressure defense held Russell’s offense. Ellinwood’s girls improved to 11-0.
Doll scored 15 first-half points and the Eagles led 23-14 at halftime. Delaney Beckwith and Tawny Arndt each added six points for the Cardinals.
Megan Boxberger led Russell with nine points.
Ellinwood beat Hoisington’s girls 51-32 in the semifinals. Delaney Beckwith scored 22 points and Rachel Doll added 18 points. Hoisington’s Rylie Koester scored 15 points.
Lacrosse 40, Hoisington 28 (3rd place) — LaCrosse outscored Hoisington 18-5 in the third period and beat the Cardinals 40-28 for third place. Alyssa Oborny led LaCrosse with 12 points. Rylie Koester paced Hoisington with 16 points.
Minneapolis 54, Ellsworth 32 (5th place) — Lindsay Shupe scored 16 points to lead Minneapolis past Ellsworth 54-32 for fifth place. Connor Davis led Ellsworth with 12 points.
Victoria 52, Otis-Bison 48 (7th place) — Taylor Regan scored a tournament high of 33 points for Otis-Bison, which lost the seventh-place game. Samantha Leiker scored 21 points and Sara Schippers added 15 points to lift Victoria past Otis-Bison 52-48. Victoria outscored the Cougars 20-12 in the fourth quarter.

HOISINGTON — Steffan Dolechek scored 20 points and Chris Wright added 19 points to lead Hoisington’s boys past Russell 60-51 for third place in the Hoisington Winter Jam. The Cardinals outscored the Broncos 12-4 from the free throw line. Seth Owen added 10 points for the Cardinals.
Rahsean Holloway led Russell with 12 points and Colton Fritschen added 10 points.
Tournament champion Minneapolis beat Hoisington 44-30 in Friday’s semifinals. The Lions outscored the Cardinals 20-0 in the second period. Steffan Dolechek scored eight points.
Minneapolis 67, LaCrosse 28 (1st place) —Josh Macy scored 18 points to lead four players in double figures and Minneapolis defended its Winter-Jam championship with a 67-28 victory over LaCrosse. The Lions led 35-15 at halftime.
Sheldon Schmidt led LaCrosse with 15 points.
Victoria 59, Ellsworth 45 (5th place) — Bryan Dome scored 17 points and Eric McAlonan and Noah Dreiling added 12 apiece as Victoria sped past Ellsworth 49-35 for fifth place. Lucas Barta scored 14 points for Ellsworth.
Ellinwood 39, Otis-Bison 35 (7th place) — Red-hot Marc Waite scored 19 points to lead Ellinwood past Otis-Bison 39-35 for seventh place. Gavin Vink added 10 points. Brandon Keller paced the Cougars with 14 points.

DODGE CITY — Class 6A Derby outscored Class 2A Central Plains 24-2 to take control and roll to a 50-37 victory in the championship game of the Dodge City Tournament of Champions.
Derby’s Papi Conley was named the tournament’s Most Inspirational Player. The Oilers led 7-0 but were outscored 24-2 to trail 24-9. Aaron Nicholson led Derby with 18 points.
Braedan Crites led the Oilers with 10 points. Leading scorer Layne Bieberle was held to six points.

Cody Crosdby paced the Panthers with 16 points and Trey Ibarra hit four 3-pointers for 12 points. Alec Hildreth led El Dorado with 20 points. The Wildcats outscored the Panthers 18-8 in the fourth quarter.
