SALINA — All season long, there has been two Great Bend High School girls' tennis players that have come out on top every time.
On Saturday at a Class 5A regional tournament, things went quite the same.
The duo of Morgan Francis and Macy Moyers were the only Great Bend entry to make it past the first round.
"Our singles really had a hard time," GBHS head coach Shannon Schartz said. "The singles division was really loaded. There were probably the best two girls in the state in that division.
"Our doubles teams looked a lot better."
Great Bend placed third in the competition behind Andover and Salina Central.
Francis and Moyers are 35-0 overall and now have a regional title to their names in the doubles competition.
The doubles duo entered with a first-round bye as the tournament's top seed and defeated three teams to win the title.
"Morgan and Macy looked extremely good in the finals against Andover," Schartz said. "They were dominant in each of their matches, but they were really good against Andover.
"They had great serves. Their serve receive was great. They just never let Andover get into the match."
Rebecca Dawson and Addison Westhoff fell in the first round in singles competition.
Carly Boyd and Taylor Huslig lost in the first round of the doubles competition.
