HUTCHINSON — Hutchinson Trinity's Kaid McElgunn scored three first-half touchdowns as the Celtics shut down Ellinwood's high powered offense for a 26-15 victory in 1A, District 7. McElgunn caught a pair of touchdown passes from quarterback Drew Dechant and powered home a 3-yard rushing touchdown.

Ellinwood's Drake Hosman scored on an 8-yard run and quarterback Landon Simpson scored on a 2-yard run on the Eagles' final play from scrimmage. Simpson caught a 60-yard pass from Tavian McCaffrey.

Ellinwood (4-2, 1-2 District) drops its second District game while Trinity is 3-3, 2-1 District.

Austn Brack contributed 11 tackles and Tavian McCaffrey had nine tackles.
