Fort Larned Lions Club stays active

The Fort Larned Lions Club was founded in March 8 1974, in Larned. During that time peroid the local Lions Club has helped the community by giving out Christmas baskets to the needy which serves an average of 100 families in the Larned area. It is their 42nd year doing this. In addition to this, Fort Larned Lions Club helps in purchasing eyeglasses for several poeple in need each year, supports two students to go to Lions Band Week, Helps with the After Prom Party, provides dictionaries to every 4th grade student in the local school, supports Kansas Lions Band Foundation, provides three $500 scholarships to graduating seniors, and supports Leaderdog. This club does a lot of giving in the Larned community. Currently the president of the club is Janis Fairchild; secretary is Ron VanCleave; and treasurer is Steve Lewis.
