- Padme Amidala, also known as the mother of Luke Skywalker and Leia Organa, ranked 45th on the list. Her low ranking comes because she helps set in motion everything that befalls her.
- Han Solo placed first on the list. You would think Luke Skywalker, the hero of the series, would have topped the list, but Solo earned the top spot because of his catchy one-liners and charm, Rolling Stone explained.
- Luke Skywalker placed sixth on the list. He sits behind sister Leia Organa, teacher Yoda, foe Boba Fett and his father Darth Vader on the list. Rolling Stone didnt have a favorable view of Skywalker, saying, Anyone who thinks of Star Wars as a simplistic story of good and evil needs to look more closely at the young Skywalker, who always seems to be on the brink of turning dark, even when he's saving the day.
- Chewbacca lands outside the top 15. He ranked No. 17 on the list, behind villainous Jabba the Hut, bounty hunter Greedo and newcomer K-2S0, the robot from Rogue One. Theres no reason why he places so low.
- The Emperor ranks 20. Emperor Palpatine orchestrates a lot of what happens in the Star Wars saga, and yet he barely makes the top 20,
