Mr. and Mrs. Weems

Lauren Rebecca Marshall and Christopher Jordan Weems were united in marriage on Nov. 13 at the historic estate of John and Mable Ringling in Sarasota, Fla. in a ceremony officiated by the Reverend William Johnson. Lauren is the daughter of Dr. Roger and Laina Marshall, of Great Bend. Christopher is the son of Mr. Samuel and Deborah Weems, of Jackson, Miss. 
The bride was given in  marriage by her father. She wore a strapless ball gown with a drop waist, designed by Kenneth Pool. The satin bodice featured elaborate crystal and silver beading. The scalloped beaded tulle skirt was adorned with silver and crystal chandelier bead work, forming a repeated pattern of scallop seashells. She wore a crystal covered starfish necklace, earrings, and comb in her hair and a custom two-tiered tulle veil that was beaded with crystals and fresh water pearls. Her bouquet was made of orange birds-of-paradise, fuchsia roses, orange and lime green orchids, and orange spider mums. The bride’s bouquet as well as all the bouquets, boutineers, and centerpieces were embedded with seashells and sand dollars.
Maid-of-honor was Virginia Hughes. The bridesmaids were Kelsi Remmert and Rebecca Parr. The bridesmaids wore silk tea length dresses by Tommy Bahamas with a vintage Florida floral print.
Best man was Jake Wetzel. Groomsmen were Matthew and Patrck Weems. They were black tuxes with a gold vest and tie. 
Ushers were Victor, Matthew, and Cal Marshall, brothers of the bride.
Flower-girls were Madeleine Rhoden, niece of the groom, and Brooklynn McIntyre, cousin of the bride. They wore custom dresses of gold satin with full white tulle skirts covered in crystals and tiaras covered in seashells and pearls.
The bride is a 2003 graduate of Great Bend High School. She attended Kansas State University and Wells College of the Arts in Paris, France. She graduated in 2008 from Ringling College of Art and Design in Sarasota, Fla. She is the event and design manager for RSVP Special Events and Design.            
The graduated in 2008 from Ringling College of Art and Design in Sarasota, Fla. He is a TV and mobile application designer for Yahoo.
After a Caribbean cruise honeymoon, the couple resides in Atlanta, Ga.
