A 44-year-old man from Offerle died Monday morning after a car and a pickup collided on U.S. 50, 18 miles east of Dodge City in Ford County.
Kansas Highway Patrol reports Dale E. Wetzel was driving a 2003 Chevrolet pickup that collided with a 2008 Toyota driven by Tonia L. Rumbaugh, 39, of Dodge City, who was not injured.
Rumbaugh was driving north on 127 Road and Wetzel was westbound on U.S. 50 at 8:40 a.m. Rumbaugh had stopped at the stop sign but didn’t see the pickup, and pulled onto the highway. The collision caused the pickup Wetzel was driving to roll twice, with both vehicles coming to rest in the north ditch.
Rumbaugh was wearing a seat belt; Wetzel was not.
