HOISINGTON — Barton County Sheriff’s officers executed a search warrant around 6:30 p.m. Friday, February 21, in the 200 block of South Clay Street in Hoisington, Sheriff Brian Bellendir reports.
“When deputies and detectives knocked on the front door to gain entry, the subject inside stated he had a gun. After a short standoff the suspect surrendered and exited the residence. Arrested at the scene was Nelson Adams Sr., age 57 of Hoisington,” Bellendir stated in a news release. “Adams was taken into custody without further incident and transported to the Barton County Jail. Approximately 1 ounce of methamphetamine and packaging materials were found at the location.”
Adams was booked on possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute and criminal use of a firearm. He was released after posting the $50,000 bond.
