This is the final week that free skate rental will be available at the artificial ice in the Barton County Courthouse Square.
Great Bend City Coordinator Christina Hayes said the rental booth will be closed Thursday and Friday for the holiday, but will resume its regular hours this weekend: 1-8 p.m. Saturday and 1-5 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 27.
There will be no skates available after that, but anyone who has skates is invited to use the artificial ice for as long as it remains in the square.
