new re Drug Arrest 2

A Barton County Deputy Sheriff stopped a 2001 Pontiac Grand Am at 2:20 a.m. on Friday near mile post 130 on K-4 near Claflin where a Wichita woman was arrested, Sheriff Brian Bellendir said.
According to reports, Deputy Sheriff David Melcher stopped the car for an equipment violation. Upon contacting the driver, Crystal Horton, 33, of Wichita, it was discovered her driver’s license was suspended.
“Based on further investigation, a K-9 officer was called from the City of Great Bend,” Bellendir said. “As a result of the investigation, methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia were eventually located.”
Horton was arrested and transported to the Barton County Jail where she is being held in lieu of $10,000 bond.
Sheriff’s deputies were assisted at the scene by the Great Bend Police Department K-9 officer. A male passenger in the vehicle was released.
